Right, I don't want to clog the feed so I think maybe I should keep my thoughts on RQG(Hamid) in the comments on this post unless/until I get my thoughts together enough to make a tumblr post.

They broke my halfling! He just grasped the idea that the baddie being a mind alterer means that they can never trust they won, and he just...broke. He is sitting eating imaginary cheese cake with possibly-not!Oscar Wilde while the rest of the team investigates.

YES!!!! Sasha's dead friend just convinced him that he owes it to Sasha to try!

Also god bless Sasha: Hamid had a near panic attack after got a telegram saying his parents are proud of him and are coming to visit. Everyone else was standing around doing the usual "I don't get it" thing you expect from people who grew up with white picket fences; and Sasha is springing into full "we can get you to a safe place" protective mode and ASKING him what he needs.

It would have been so easy for her character to go to far in the other direction and make a bunch of plans "for Hamid's own good". Instead she isn't asking why he is afraid, just taking it as read that if he is then he has his reasons and asking what he needs to feel safe.

Honestly I think the telegram, then the subsequent realization that it was fake is a large part of why Hamid broke later in the episode. I thought Jonathan Sims was responsible for all the heartbreak in The Magnus Archives but I think it might be Alex. You don't tell us we won, tie it up in a neat bow, then not only go "never mind" but imply that the only time Hamid's parents ever said they were proud of him was in a dream sequence unless you actively seek out fan tears.
