it was just so frustrating, to try to mitigate harm ended up bailing him out or deciding that it couldn't have been that bad to begin with. Trying to maintain some dignity and not tell everyone about all the shit he pulled meant they only heard his side of the story or assumed what they saw was the worst of it.
