So last few times I played with making my own site, I did like I was taught and got some organization & templates in place first then worked on content. So I have about 4 layers of old versions of the site that are pretty and the templates out number the stubs for things I was going to write later which out number the actually written bits. My ADHD usually hit around the time I knew what bits would go where & more or less what it would look like. I get down to a cache of actual content from 2017ish and apparently that predates my having any actual classes in webdesign.
I thought I was just going to cut & paste it into the new template. Instead I am sitting wondering how it has three h1s, if I had closed a paragraph tag in my life, and whether those br/s ever made sense or if they were seriously based on the size of my monitor at the time. I suppose I should be grateful that I haven't found the fandom site I made in middle school that predates CSS and used invisible tables for formatting.
In theory I am getting better at being kind about my past self and forgiving what I didn’t know. I practice the best I have is "for winging it off the cheapest second hand books I could find, its kinda impressive I was able to get something that appeared more competent then it was"
