Sandy and Sandy Hook

Its January 31st and I still don't have words for either event. On Hurricane Sandy I can at least focus on the good-The east coast didn't have the same level of dysfunction as New Orleans after Katrina, and there are a lot of cool stories about strangers doing amazing things for people they didn't know. How do I even describe Sandy Hook? 1 man takes 4 guns, including an assault weapon into an elementary school and kills 26 people including teachers who died for their students. God knows what his motive was, best bet is he had mental problems since his mother pulled him out of school and home schooled him. Last I checked the current thinking was that she didn't properly lock up her guns at home and had taught him to shoot as a hobby. The USA is finally having a debate about the balance between the rights of responsible gun owners and keeping guns out of the hands of madmen and criminals. Crossing my fingers that background checks and a ban on assault weapons goes through.
